Desi Dhaba

For Valentine’s Day, one would only think of chocolates, strawberries, and flowers but never the meal before. Some more than others look forward to this day as it is filled with love, giving, and showing love. To those that find it a bore and overrated, heal. Other than that, let me introduce you to food as filling and warm as the love received on this day: Indian-fusion food at Desi Dhaba

I have never been to Desi Dhaba even though I have had leftovers from when my aunt visits and I sometimes make a mean butter chicken with failed rotis, so I have had Indian Food before. Eating at Desi Dhabi has been on my bucket list, and I am glad I got to check it off. It was confusing trying to order from a menu filled with names of food you don’t know. I won’t lie, I was tapping into Zee World knowledge of Indian food. Luckily, we had data and could google names we found interesting until we finally ordered.

We settled on Mutton Rogan Josh Curry, and Gobi Manchurian and paired them with naans. The first bite of the Gobi was interesting, even though the google search said that it was vegetables for some reason I did not expect cauliflower. After the first bite, it grew on me, and the flavours were great. The curry wasn’t hot, it was filled with spices and armours that transported you to Mumbai, not that I’ve been there before. Honestly, the food was great and plenty. We ended up having leftovers as takeaways for later.

We also got dessert which was ice cream. This is not your normal ice cream as it is made by boiling down heavy cream with sugar and flavours. It tastes like frozen condensed milk, and I loved it. Take it from me, if you have never had Indian food, you should try it at Desi Dhaba first as it has now set a standard of what I should expect.
