Seoul Food

Seoul Food, which I learned is pronounced soul and not se-oul, is located in Swakopmund on Otavi road. It is a Korean takeaway joint that recently opened up and has been making buzz around the town.

I came to know about Seoul Food on Instagram, as seoulfoodswakopmund, and I love that. The page has updates on the restaurants such as the change times and you can decide before going to the place what you want to get.

When I went there, with my friend, we arrived just as they opened but guess what, they already had an hour's worth of orders. We got our food after an hour and it is great that they call you when your food is ready for pick up.

Unfortunately, they don't have seating (yet, hopefully) but imagine having great food in a Korean-themed restaurant. Maybe it would be great to receive the food in a paper bag instead of a plastic bag to be more eco-friendly. If that's me nitpicking, then let it be so.

I had the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap with a side of Mandu-Pork. I also stole food from my friend's plate, he had the Japchae Chicken and Cucumber Kimchi.

My beef was seasoned great and matched perfectly with my serving of steamed rice. I especially loved the mushrooms, delicious.  The Japchae was delicious as well, I got to enjoy a bit before of his food before he started nagging me for having some. As stated, Seoul Food is purely takeaway so we had our food at the side of the beach.

This was my first time having Korean food and I wasn't disappointed. It was great taking the leap of faith and having food out of my comfort and would do it again.
